I just bought a Vance and Hines used and it has a dent in it on the midpipe. Luckily it is only about 2-3 inches from the connection between the midpipe and headers so I can reach it fairly easily. Does anybody have a good suggestion on how to pop the dent out, or has anyone taken it to a shop to get it done? Or am I out of luck.

Thanks,

Jay

You can get things that are meant to spread out header pipes so they fit over other pipes. They sell them pretty cheap at harbor freight and other auto part stores. I'd but one of those, heat up the dent, and start expanding the tool. I would think it would pop out the dent before it got around to stretching anything else out. If you want to be sure you could probably wrap a couple hose clamps around it to keep the pressure on that one spot.

Good idea.  He might be able to take it to a shop that has a tool like that and get them to do it for really cheap.

I don't know anything about anything.  Follow suggestions found on the internet at your own risk.
