Hi everyone, I replaced my handlebars today, and after I put everything back into place, the starter doesn't want to work. It doesn't even turn over. All other electrical things work, i.e. turn signals, horn, high beams.

Any ideas? I'd be glad to give any more information that would help.

Edit: I should probably include this information. I replaced the bars because I lowsided on the left side and bent them quite badly. I know that the clutch safety switch is fine, I rode the bike home after, and even rode it a few times after.

Do the lights on the dash light up when you turn the key? neutral/oil lights

Can you hear the starter relay clicking?  If not check the kill switch

The lights on the dash light up when I turn on the ignition.

After a little more searching on this forum, I decided to short the starter at the relay. Started right up.

While I was there, I tried pressing the switch with the ignition on. Didn't hear a click. I take it this means my relay is done? The fuse looked fine.

It sounds like the starter relay, check to see if you are getting power from your starter button to the relay, it may have knocked something loose when you moved the controls , also check wire connections

I'm an idiot. I rechecked the clutch switch. I broke one of the copper connectors. Time to short them.

just fold up some tinfoil and shove it in there and screw it back on

I ended up just pulling the tab from the other size, then putting those two tabs together to complete the circuit and bypass the switch.

Thanks for the help everyone!
