i forgot all about using an easy out. gonna go soak it in crc for a little bit than give it a try.
the ebay links a re pretty good, mighty try to get a set off of there. i'll have to talk to nhan and see what he wants to do. thanks for all the help

If the tube starts spinning in the carb body, clamp some Vice-Grips on the Easy out and pull like a MoFo as it spins, you don't want the Easy-Out to E-X-P-A-N-D whats left of the tube into the carb body  :nono:

Good Luck!

It was nice here in Seattle so I rode to Alki beach and enjoyed the sun while reading the Haynes book (because I am learning how to do things, too. But read a motorcycle book laying in the sun at the beach?). The back section has all kinds of tips to remove stuck things. Heat gun to expand the part. For a tube, it says to insert a round anything of about the same size (like a phillips screw driver) then clamp on to twist & pull. Inserting a screwdriver or something of the same inside size prevents you from crushing the part. that was a HINT in the Ref-17 part in the back of the book.

Which carb is it? If it's the right one, I have a carb body from some parts carbs I picked up that could be had real cheap. The left one is buggered up to where I wouldn't want to try to fix it.

tried to pull out the tube using the screwdriver method and it wouldn't move at all, was afraid of cracking the carb body by expanding it with the ez out.

ended up picking up an '02 carb off of ebay. prolly gonna play with play around with the old one and use it as a spare.
