new to the board  names donavon ive got a 2009 gs 500 f payments are running 160 a month. 30 months left..shes brand new.. im looking to get something bigger as you are all aware the aftermarket parts are very limited..id like a 750 or 1000.street bike

It would help if we knew where you were located.
How many miles on the bike? Has it been dropped? Photos would help.
Did you buy extended warranties or service for it?
30x160 = 4800 which is the cost of a new bike ($3999) plus taxes, etc. Payments include interest (what percentage?), so a payoff amount would be good as someone would probably pay it off and refinance it themselves maybe at a better interest rate.

not one single scratch on it never dropped trying to figure out how to post pics have a photobucket under donavon6..ill take $3000 for it and pay the difference myself. SO IF IT SELLS I PAID TAX FRIEGHT AND SET UP CHARGES DEALERSHIPS ARE KNOWN FOR.MY LOSS IS YOUR GAIN.my credit union wont let me have another bike this is 3rd.so i have to get rid of one to get a 750 or 1000.it has 600 miles on it and paperwork from dealership they are the only ones that have touched the maintanace on this bike.im located in odessa/midland area of texas.i also have a piaggio 500x9 for $3000 as well.

I didn't mean to upset you or have you lower your terms. I just felt more info would be helpful. I had some interest in it but it is too far away (I'm in Seattle). I'm in the mood for a 3rd bike. I have a 2009 and love it. I have a 1992 I just got and today arrived an original, unused full fairing from England. If I put that on the '92 I need another bike to put the belly pan and headlight cowling on to go for that cafe racer style. For a 2009 $4000 would be good price since the tax and dealer costs would not up the price. Too bad you're not local to me.

There is an FAQ on posting pictures which I think references photobucket.

Another way is to post the pictures on the "Wall of Fame". After you do that, click on the thumbnail to display the picture full size then right click on it and do "copy link image location".
Make your reply using the REPLY button rather than the "quick reply". There you'll see a button with a tiny screen with a landscape on it (pass your mouse over them. It will pop-up "insert image"). Click it and it inserts the HTML for a picture with your cursor in the middle of it. Do a paste (or control-V) and the image location will be inserted.
You can repeat that for more photos. Helps to open this site on 2 tabs or two browsers at the same time: one to edit your message and the other to view your pictures so you can copy link location. You can PREVIEW your message and scroll down to edit it or add more photos.

thank you for the tip ive looked around and alot of the links are broken that deal with picture posting.ill figure it out it will just take a little time im new to all of this but i find gstwins to be the best place on the web for this motorcycle .its like a brotherhood most of the people are real cool.

Actually you right click and select "copy image location", not link location.
You can click "modify" to edit your prior messages and insert photos.

donavon

well the best i could do is put the pics on members bikes section on page 69 .

donavon

well lokks like im keeping the bike. i had 52 people on craigslist that just dont grasp the take over payments or 4000 cash idea.what a headache,id rather just keep it.i did however think gs twins would be the best place to sell ,that is not the case.only one person replied.

Give people some time. You posted on the 1st. Some people look at the board once a week or so. Too early to give up.
On CL, just say $4000 cash OBO. Make it simple for them.

put this in your original post if you want to sell it... 160 x 30 is just too much for a 2 year old gs. sorry.

i see you said you're going to keep it... i'd say go with your gut and sell, but do it differently:

you -CANNOT- advertise on craigslist with 'take over payments'. that brings idiots out like bears to honey ! they'll offer you everything from their great grandads '45 ford to dentures to stolen radios soaked with gas.

the right way on craigslist is with a complete title "1999 Suzuki GS500 for sale $xxxx", and make sure you say you will not ship, will not trade, will not accept anything other than cash. You want to sell a bike, not start a relationship !

PICTURES ! clear, daytime, lights on pictures. bikes look dead if the lights are off. add a youtube clip of it starting AND running.

I'd say you could get $3200- 3500 for it pretty easily, but with dealers sitting on new untitled bikes for $4000 otdoor, well, you know.

by the way, post some pics up here on gstwins. everyone loves a shiney gs ! :)
