my brother has a 98 katana he is having serious problems with.  it has a pipe and kn pod filters.  he keeps going through spark plugs like crazy.  i'm not talking about every few hundred miles either.  he rides it to work and that is it.  3 miles round trip.  he's put in 3 sets of plugs in it in the last month and has only put about 20 miles on it.  yesterday he called me and said it dropped cyl 1 & 2 on his way home.  put new plugs in ran fine.  thats how it has been.  it'll drop a couple cyl, he'll put in new plugs because they aren't firing and be fine for a couple days.  then is does it all over again.  we can't figure it out

My virago eats plugs, its a known issue with them virago's, a weak black box shows up as plugs dying. The remedy for a virago is to rebuild the BB. One such clown took mine and disappeared.
Anyway kat may or may not have that issue. You have it jetted right ? in a way that is a dumb question, a plug that fouls in 3 miles is not jetting, a plug that fouls @ startup is a jetting issue, however you never know. Is it caking up with carbon ? what if you clean it and re run it ? If that doesn't work, its definetly an electrical issue.
Cool.

it was jetted with the pipe and not for the filters.  he knows it's running a little lean but he said the plugs had a little carbon on them.  i was starting to think the coils maybe but we don't need to worry about it now.  he just traded it an hour ago for a 97 s10 ZR2 ext cab
