Do I need any special gasket sealant when I put my carbs back together on my '01? The float bowl seemd to have some type of silicon sealant, that's the only place I foud any. Should I just use a little oil around on the top as sealant and use some silicon based stuff on the float bowl gasket?

I've never put sealant on carb parts and haven't had any problems with gas leaking.

There is no place in the carbs that sealant should be used.
