I got em to write me repair checks from the 2006 accident without any real trouble. I just got the dealer to hold it while the guy inspected it, and they gave him the prices and labor. I presume after he died of a heart attack, his replacement gave me a check.

My savage rear end turned out to be a total so I got a check for that just fine.
