hey all
iam trying to find out what the stock spring rates are for the front suspension and what what weight oil do they use, as the title says i have a 2009 f Model K9 (as my bike has a four year warranty i cant change much without voiding it)

Fork oil weight is 10w.

Not 100% sure about the fork springs though, the '89-'02 models are .594kg, and I would suspect the F models are very similar, but with the addition of the fairing they must be stiffer.

i seem to bottom out, i notice this most when iam leaving traffic. ie. crossing the oncoming traffic lane to get to the shop. maybe i need to slow down maybe the springs are soft maybe its both lol

i used the calculator at sonic springs here and it says for normal riding 0.85 and for aggressive 0.90

people i have talked to say that progressive springs might not be the best choice for the riding iam doing

Soft springs do teach you to be smooth, and they're really great in the rain.  I have my bike set up for the worst possible conditions (rain, sleet, gravel, mud, loose dirt, pine needles (lots of fun!)), and you want soft(er) springs for rain and the like.

Here's something that helped me out: http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=19999.msg185291#msg185291
