Has anyone fitted a 120/70/17 front tyre to stock front end? Looks a little tight between the fender.Only asking as i need a new tyre and already have the 120 in my shed spare + it`ll be on the combo so will prob` give more grip when turning.(might put a 140 on the rear too)

A 120 should fit. I thought I read a few people have done it.  It will affect your speedometer just a little bit because it is just a little bit wider and just a little bit taller.  I have a 140 on the rear, I like it.

You can run 120/70 front and either 140/70 or 150/70 rear tires on the standard 3" and 3.5" wide rims.  They will be approved fitments in bias tires but not approved fitments by all tire makers for radial tires.  I'm currently running 120/70 and 150/70 Roadrider bias tires on my stock 02 GS wheels.

I used a 120-70 front with no issues.  when I upgraded to the 98+katana front wheel to match my rear wheel, there was very little clearance so Io had to run the katana front fender
