Hey SlanginfromaGS...great handle!

Clip-ons are like gold here. Stock bars could probably be procured for free plus shipping and a sob story.

I was gonna say the same thing.. but I figured maybe somebody would be crazy enough to trade with the guy.

As for clip ons on the cheap, if you are crafty enough, you could make your own if you look hard enough at what they have at a good hardware/plumbers supply store and use some creativity. ;)

I'm finding myself is the situation where I'm wanting the US stock bar setup.

I've got a UK 1996 GS500 with orgional clip-ons but I find they hurt my back rather quickly.

Shame I'm not in the US where parts and postage are cheap!

You'll find someone who wants a bit more comfort for their style of riding.

Another option is just to keep an eye out on ebay for other clipons from other bikes that will fit. The pair I had were from a honda hurricane cbr F1, if I remember correctly. You just need something that will fit 37mm forks.

You could also try some drag bars. You can get some for $20 new and they put you in a pretty similar position.

The top plate from the GS500F is compatible. You have lots of bike breakers over there. Just watch for one from a new model. I bought the older ones like you have and put them on my 2009 GS500F. A simple swap.

PS: Due to the different position of the controils, you MIGHT have to adjust the cables or get longer ones, but the bike breakers would also have the GS500F cables.
