Frozen ignition

I have found that on cold mornings, my key doesn't want to turn at first. If I breathe on my key to warm it up a little bit and then stick it in the ignition, and repeat a few times if necessary, it will eventually let loose and turn. Any suggestions on something I could put in there to prevent this?

i use a aerosol can, I think it's carbon graphite lubricant.  It was from the autostore and said it's suppose to prevent freezing locks.  Lithium grease spray would probably work too.

you are not supposed to use anything greasy because it will attract dirt.  Graphite is very good, but I am not sure if it has much effect on the cold.  There are some lock de-icer aresol cans.  I am not sure if they evaporate once they loosen it up or something like that.

Take up smoking so you can heat your key up with your lighter

If it's freezing but there is no snow my trick is not going to help, otherwise put a piece of paper (big paper) on the ignition to cover it up from the snow/ice. Thus is no snow/ice getting in and it's usefull because those are a real problems.

Try a spray of contact cleaner to get rid of any gunk (it will evaporate) then use graphite powder to lubricate the lock.
