I just wanted to say - THANKS for all of the info on this site and the wiki!!!!!

I finished my MSF class a few weeks ago. Several years ago, I used to ride dirt a lot, but I was looking for a nice 1st street bike. Since I am taller, a lot of beginner bikes didn't work for me. The GS500 was perfect.

I found a great deal on craigslist for a 2007 GS500f that only had 650 miles on it, but it hadn't been ridden in over two years. I was able to use all of the information on this site to do a full maintenance on the bike, troubleshoot a few issues, and now it is running perfect!

I am also planning to do a few mods in future- frame sliders, katana shock, progressive springs, zero gravity windscreen. If you guys have any of these items for sale, or have other recommendations, please let me know.

THANKS AGAIN!

The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?

Great job on the bike! You'll be amazed how much work you can do to the bike yourself if you spend some time digging around the forum first. Taking a bike in to a shop to get worked on doesn't even sound logical to me anymore.
