I thought, "what's that siren", then noticed "Lunk Alarm" on the wall and looked it up. So what... the guy is lifting heavy dumbells and making hard breathing noises, the lunk alarm goes off, girl comes to tell him to stop making breathing noises when lifting weights (prob already told him three/four times), he's utterly gobsmacked, she probably tells him to like it or leave, won't give him a refund but, so, he's now incited. End of line. Derezz.

So what I can gather from all this is... Planet Fitness doesn't actually want anyone to get fit. They don't want muscle guys or people working hard.

I just saw this on tv.

Of course they don't want people to get healthy! They want you to pay your dues but not show up! Like my membership at least my insurance pays for it though!

Yup, I had one of those memberships...went religiously for about three months then slowly petered out...kept the membership for about two years before I clued in that I don't go anymore...I don't think I lost more than five pounds (although I was in decent shape back then...), but I belonged to a fitness club...hehehe

That "they don't want you go get fit" theory works on the diet industry as well, what the hell would they do if everyone started exercising and eating right?  GO OUT OF BUSINESS...that's what...so you have to know that diets are designed to fail so that you buy into the next one...

The only real answer is "EAT LESS, MOVE MORE"...that simple, but I'm lazy...pass the pizza and beer...Thanx... :thumb:

I haven't read all of the article but a guy lost I think 18lbs on a twinkie only diet to prove it is caloric intake that is responsible for weight loss not what you eat.

That guy has probably shortened his lifespan in doing so too.

It is completely based on caloric intake...but twinkies have no nutritional value, so he would have done damage to himself at a celular level...your body needs proper nutrition to maintain itself, repair damage (ie. bruises, cuts, scrapes, etc.), and if you are not taking in a good diet, it has to be taken from somewhere else...but yeah, if you cut out 500 calories a day from your regular diet, you will loose 1 pound per week...

Now if I could only follow my own advise...I guess if I got off the pizza and beer diet it would help, probably would help to walk away from the computer and go play with the kids... :icon_mrgreen:

Well, I guess it's a new year and most people make resolutions (that few seem to keep), so maybe some of my own advice...Move more, eat less!!

I showed this to a guy I work with and now every day all I hear is 'I clean cars up and buff them out.' with a poor Schwarz accent.

Oh, I know it;s not good. I've taken college nutrition courses and the such. I've lost close to 20lbs the last six months by reducing how much I eat at each meal. I go with the six small meals a day and it really helps.
