I think Ive seen a video or a blog about this bike. Would make a nice addition to the stable for a GS fan.

A Honda Interceptor would make a nicer addition to the stable of a GS fan...

Something about sitting on top of three -full size - exposed - deep cycle batteries during an accident bothers me. I realize the GS has a battery but something about it doesn't seem like a good idea to me.

I didn't claim it to be a rational concern...I would worry less about gas in a metal container than battery acid in a plastic one.

Hmm...

Metal + road surface = sparks.............. + gas = boom

Plastic container + road = maybe cracks.

Honestly.... battery acid in most cases... is mild. I've never actually gotten acid burns from battery acid. And yes, i've had acid burns in other situations.

No argument will convince me that riding a two wheeled vehicle propelled by a fork lift motor and powered by unprotected deep cycle batteries down a public street is a good idea.

I'm sure the owner used only the highest quality wire coat hangers and bungee cords to put this thing together, but I wouldn't purchase it.

Why be concerned about a tank of gas, especially if it's full? In most accidents the tank retains its integrity and the vacuum petcock shuts off the flow to the carburetor(s). The worst you risk is a tank rupture that will spill some gas and make you smell bad. Not nearly as bad as a splash of battery acid if the batteries used contain it.

Someone posted about it 6 or 7 months ago. Maybe here or PNWRiders.com. Anyway, he did try to sell it last summer.

Yeah, had it on ebay for $500. Maybe he things CL people will pay $600.

On his eBay I m sure he mentioned a range of around 2 miles.

As has been mentioned, it has been posted on here before, somewhere. Guess he can't find anyone to buy it.

I live on several acres, with a two mile range I could use it to ride out to the mail box every morning for about 5 days and then let it charge it over the weekend---a highly practical application, where do I sign up?

Or, better yet, you could install a moderately sized internal combustion engine and get a range of...oh, I don't know...200 miles out of it. Then you could ride it to your mail box for 5 weeks without doing anything.
