Just bought the bike about a month ago, and yesterday I did a good amount of work. I also found that the nipple on the carb (number 45 in the diagram http://wiki.gstwins.com/index.php?n=Main.1989-2000) has no hose attached nor cap. The PO or 2 PO put an aftermarket petcock on the bike. My question is does this need to be capped or left open with small filter on the end of it to draw in air? The pic says it goes to the petcock. Thanks...

Thanks for your help! Got it fixed.....

#47, a Tee, is the fuel infeed.  It caries fuel from the petcock to the carbs.  The upper Tee (#45) is just a vent, leave it open.

Hose #42 in that pic goes to the OEM petcock.  If you don't have a vacuum operated petcock, the nipple needs to be capped.
