So, today I'm sitting in the Dr, office had already been there two hours getting ultrasounds done and still had to get my blood drawn. I was kinda spaced out watching the news channel when this older Spanish guy gets right in my face shouting "you are a disgrace to God" I was kinda startled and was like " What are you talking about?"
He shouts "Is that your motorcycle in the handicapped spot?"
"yeah, but if you look I have a legal handicapped tag"
" I don't care if you ride a motorcycle your not disabled" This whole time he has his hands on the arms of my chair. I tell him he needs to back up before there are problems. He starts calling me every name in the book but a white person" I nudge him back so I can get out of my chair. And well I did a non-Christian thing I started into screaming at him. Mind you this is in the middle of a Dr. Office. I get a huge adrenaline dump and I start having an arrythmia and make it out of the door where I drop to one knee from the dizziness. I guess my doc heard the commotion and had seen what this a$$clown had done to me. She tells him to get back over to the other side of the office and she comes out to tend to me.

Honestly, why can't people just mind their own business. Now my chest is killing me and I feel like shiate!

Sounds like a duck move on his part, but why do you have a handicap tag?

Sorry you had to put up with an arrogant piece of work...some people don't realize that not all handicaps are immediately visible...can't believe no one got him out of your face... >:(

I have stage three heart failure for starters, Crohn's disease, three knee surgeries, two herniated disc in my back, an implanted defibrillator, ATM also have a three inch hole in my chest, a picc line in my right arm, and can't walk more than 100ft without getting short of breath.

But, it doesn't really matter does it? My doctor filled out the appropriate paperwork I got the appropriate tag from the DMV. I feel that I should not have to "prove" I'm disabled to every jerkwad that thinks otherwise. If I'm breaking the law call a LEO and let him do his job otherwise STFU and leave me alone!

Hypochristians...

Old guy or not ...extend your leg/raise your foot abruptly...that was a form of assault he did there...

You know I've seen plenty of blatantly non-handicapped people roll into a spot and then fish out one of those placards they hang on the rear view mirror ( which they probably bought/ had made...). Then just about jog into a store/whatever...
I can see why a person could get agitated when they see a bike in a spot...but if you have the tags-it's your spot too...I mean do people think you peddle the bike there?

So did you offer him a steaming hot cup of Shut the flock up?

Red,why does she have Handicapped tag(s).... Heart problems among other problems come to mind... I don't think they want you to hike real far til you're all squared up and healthy again... (Mary replied while I was typing this)

My father has eaten himself into diabetes... he got one of those placards... and it's bullshlt - and I've said so.

Honestly, form first view If you arent riding a trike i'd kinda be mad to, I think if your capabale of riding a motorcycle then at first sight you'd probabaly be able to walk from a normal spot to leave it open for an older person. I understand you have multpiple conditions but at first sight when people see someone ona  motorcycle they don't understand that.

Well then I'd say it's pretty deserving of a tag, I know it just kind of looks bad. Riding a bike and being labeled handicapped generally don't go hand in hand. That just means you're a real trooper  :thumb:

Twisted

Should have given him a taste of a Shoei flavoured helmet Mary.

You know what dude I have a tag that should be Flucking it END OF STORY. It is only the job of law enforcement to give me a ticket if I am illegally parked. I know guys that have one leg that ride Busa's are they disabled? I'm also not the only person in Florida that has a motorcycle handicapped tag so apparently the state of Florida believes you can be disabled and ride to.

It really doesn't take very much physical effort to ride a motorcycle. I park in a way that I don't have to push my bike. When I get home it is the BF that puts it on the center stand because I'm to weak to do it! I really do wish some of you young kids could walk a mile in my shoes because I don't think you could really handle it!

My bike is the last thing that I have that makes me feel somewhat normal in a world where the only constant companion that I have is PAIN and lots of it. Imagine everytime you walk across the parking lot you get the same type of chest pain that someone who is having a heart attack has. Wouldn't you want to park up front too? The other day at school I had to climb three flights of stairs because the elevator was broken it took me 25 minutes to get my breath back and due to the lack of oxygen to my brain I couldn't even concentrate for the rest of the class because everything was foggy!

My life sucks enough as it is I don't need help in making it worse. So, for the love of God just leave the people alone if they are breaking the law it will catch up to them. But, harassing a person who really is disabled to me is a bigger crime. Because, I will suffer for the next few days with severe fatigue. More than likely I won't be able to get out of bed tomorrow because my heart will be cranky as hell and walking to the bathroom will most likely induce excruciating chest pain!

I know Jared I'm just having a rough day! I let 10 years of looks, comments, and confrontations out today. I don't think the guy really realized just how tall I am I'm 5'8" and with my security training know how to handle myself. When I pushed him back and stood up his demeanor completely changed. But, this skirmish cost me not sure how much yet. I'm fortunate that I didn't go into a full blown arrythmia and ended up back in the hospital or worse.

I don't think I would have minded if he asked me I would have been more than happy to show him the permanent tag because sometimes it is easy to miss. Bike plates aren't big to begin with. But, don't attack me or yell at me treat me as a human being. I even get upset at people taking advantage of it. I tried going back to my part-time job this week first time in a month and a half. I was doing TNA wrestling so I "know" alot of the folks that go to it because they always go. I saw one particular woman have a walker and I'd never seen her with one before. I'm sure she didn't know that I was disabled because I don't broadcast it because in security it can be a liability for one to know how weak I really am. She told me " Oh I picked this up at a flea market and bring it here so I will get the best seats and everyone will be nice to me" My blood was boiling. That woman is one of the reasons that I have to go through what I went through today.

What I would give to be healthy   No one expects a heart problem at 21. All of my docs say that a heart transplant is in my very near future. But, I try to still "live" my life.

I just want to be left alone.

BUT ive seen quite a few people who are disabled riding motos. but i dislike the term disabled. or handicapped. or whatever. i saw a good movie the other night on pbs http://www.goodwillsouthflorida.org/TheSpiritofGoodwillBand. it shows me that no matter what ails you, you can do whatever it is you wish to do with enough determination

By all means let it out- I'm a big fan of Instant Karma....(That is you give it right back....like you did..).

Definition of Stress ( I had this  shirt at one time ):
That confusion that results when the mind overrides the body's desire to choke the living sheit out of some a$$hole who desperately needs it.

Serenity Now is from Seinfeld....little joke...(Lloyd Braun....."Serenity Now...Insanity later...").

Hope you feel alright soon.

Yea! Kliban cat sheets! I'm a Kliban fan, too.

ohgood

he was just mad u beat him to the spot.

should have kicked him in the nuts.

also, folks with disabled tags have all kinds of reasons. just because maw runs in or hops or jogs, she may have a 7year old that is handicapped and crying hef eyes out at home because of pain. prescritpions get lost nad out of date , but usually when a kid really needs it.

I'm slowly learning not to judge so quickly.

tbc...

also let's raise the fine for using a hc parking spot to $600 or so, and pay it into a high yield fund for pick-your-charity-at-the-time-of-paying.

anyone wiith a legitimate plackard knows it can be contested and rescended by a descent judge.
