Since this bike needs storage space I use a large magnetic tank bag.  It has a water-resistant pocket on top to put a cell phone in so it's staring me right in the face.  I wouldn't mount water and vibration-sensitive electronics on my handlebars either.
V&H pipes, K&N drop-in, seat by KnoPlace.com, 17/39 sprockets, matching grips, fenderectomy, short signals, new mirrors - 10 scariest words: "I'm here from the government and I'm here to help!"

My handle bars don't tend to vibrate so much, when the phone is mounted it doesn't move at all ( except maybe if i go over a pot hole, then everything shakes)

I originally had mine inside my faring on a cross mount between the 2 faring bars..problem was I couldnt see sh1t in there.  Where it is now seems to be the best spot I can think of where I can easily see it at a glance and its not in the way and I have easy access to my 12v.

i bought a car windshield mount for my htc evo. i just took off the plate part, then ziptied it to my handlebars. works well.

I brought the same mount for the TMOUS HD2, I thought it was terrible quality and by the end of an hour long ride it was already going lose.

I just rather stick to my tank bag with clear pouch.

I haven't had any problems. The only thing is that it rubs on the back of my phone so I put some contact on it and now its all sorted  :)
