I am still fighting some oil leaks on my 93 gs wondering if there is a better alternative to Babbits and their $19 shipping fee? The parts i need cost less than shipping... Gaskets/emblems etc..

Thx

For those things, I say support your local dealer or soon you won't have a local dealer.

I'm with Adidasguy.  Added bonus is that they can get it in only a couple of days too.

I like Bike Bandit, Z1, and sometimes alpha-sports.

I've ordered three times from Bike Bandit...

33% of the time they totally screw up the order and send the wrong part.

33% of the time they get the order right.

33% of the time they send the correct parts and extra parts (for a different motorcycle) that I didn't order.

1% of the time I try to order but their website crashes.

I've had good luck getting my Suzuki parts from Cheap Cycle Parts.com.

They ship here to Canada without any problems.. parts are usually here in about 10-14 days... and their staff has been very helpful... (So far so good.)

Prices where competitive with other "internet" suppliers.

I also buy from both of my local Dealers... mostly riding gear and accessories.

+1 for www.cheapcycleparts.com  You'll still get hit with a relatively high shipping fee on low cost items.

Don't buy anything from Babbits!  Bunch of a-holes.   They sent me some other guys stuff.(while backordiring the stuff I actually ordered)   I called them to let them know....they started yelling at me!  Telling me I had to do this or that or they were going to bill MY account!

Try "Dennis Kirk"....real good prices and real good service.....I also got some nice deals form "motorcycle superstore"

+2 for cheap cycle parts, they do get you with a 10 dollar shipping fee but the right part always comes as advertised and the website is pretty user-friendly too.  :thumb:

I've gone through about 12 orders from them now and have a head gasket and O rings on the way and I've never been disappointed.

One thing I've learned from years of wrenching is aftermarket cheap is, well, cheap. There are some things like gaskets that's just best to get from the dealer. Other than that, I look on ebay for factory parts on discount.

I just ordered a bunch of stuff from cyclegear.com last night. I don't know if they have things like gaskets or not, but shipping is always $6.99 unless you buy more than $69 worth of stuff, then it's free. On the downside, I spent $75 on 2 gallons of oil and a filter, although the shipping was free.

I agree, however if your local dealer is an A$$, withdraw your support and hope that they disappear and are replaced by someone who'd listen. My local dealer is good but it wasn't always that way. I first used to buy jets from a different place. They were fine, but they sold out to Ride now. That resulted in the parts counter being populated by vacous(sp?) air headed bimbo's. I then had to go and train another dealer's parts guys. Those guys were then integrated into the other store next door - they were sorta 2 1/2's of a single business. But fortunately the parts guys carried over. Parts for these little old bikes have very little margin. I mean what do you think they make on a $5 spark plug or a non bleed mikuni 40 sized pilot jet. Non What is the usual answer you would hear. $2, $3 ? In that same time they can sell a $1500 exhaust system or a 4G set of wheels for a hayabusa and make 1000 times that $. However you need a parts guy who pays attention to your parts even though its a small part of their business. Then you can buy your hayabusa from them and an estended arm and spinner wheels.

Cool.

www.wemoto.com seems to be the wesite i most often buy parts from(Excluding ebay of course) Their prices seems about average and the site is easy enough to use. Takes paypal/card payment and ive always received parts within the time they stated.
