I have another question to add to this thread....

When I roll off the throttle from high revs or have no throttle when rolling down a hill, I get a sort of backfiring noise, I'm not too sure what it is or whether its alright or not?

But is it just excess fuel in the carbies being burnt off?

This popping on over-run is because the mixture is so lean with throttle closed. It is not dangerous to the engine. If you don't like the noise, you can go a size bigger on the pilot jets as they control the mixture when throttle is closed or slightly cracked open.

I actually don't mind the sound, just wanted to work out what was causing it and whether or not i need to stop it because it's damaging something
