well i got an update from the shop on my "new" bike today.  they told me it had a bent shift fork.  well that is ok just fix it but for a bike that was "owned by a lady and never drove" 160 miles that is kinda crazy i dont think she was the hammer down type. :2guns:

Bent shift forks are caused by abuse/misuse of the bike, not by the kind of riding. Most likely the previous owner stomped on the shift lever to try to get it into gear at a stop, rather than gently rocking the bike back and forth or slipping the clutch.

70,000 street miles in the past 4 years, 20 trackdays on my GS500 this year, I've never had an issue with my shift forks.

All I know is that the weather is nice and I dont have a bike to ride :technical:

"never rode" because she didn't know what the hell she was doing haha, sorry to hear about your bad luck!

Sounds like someone got angry and stomped the crap out of it. Just make sure you treat the GS better, I'm sure you will.
