wanting a new seat

I have a 97' and my seat has a few tears in it and was wondering where i could get a new one. thanks for any leads!

Well, there's flea-bay where a good seat goes for $100+
Then there's always me 
$70 boxed and shipped if in the US. Had to use a couple of the rubber bumpers on the underside on another seat so use a couple of the the bumpers on your present seat (grease the pointy part a little then and they'll push right in)

Not trying to piss on a sale here but...You could remove the old vinyl and staple new vinyl to it (if the foam isn't shredded)...  Or just buy that seat from Adidas...

Look for stuff called All-sport to make it easy on yourself... (stretchy in all directions) if you decide to DIY that is..... You'll need a stapler too...

Not a problem at all. We're all here to help in every way possible.

If they decide to recover the seat, someone will want mine some day. I have room to store it. I also have a newer seat in perfect condition for the F models, too. (Remember the cool seats I bought from Germany? I use those so have the originals available.)

If you do recover, you can take the extra effort to trim down the padding if you're short or add in extra padding if you happen to have a hard hind quarters, or even do custom colors.

I looked at the seat and the foam is still good. I looked up the all sport stuff for prices. My question would be, how hard is it to redo the seat yourself? Cause if there is any special skill requried im out. Haha.

Very easy, easier than burning your toast ... even easier if you have a hair dryer.
Else you always have your oven.
Warm up marine grade vinyl and slap it on and staple. Length wise has to be the stretchier direction. Stretch that way first then side ways.

It's not too hard for a DIY project... All sport  is about 20-25$ a yard... you only need a half a yard but you'll probably have a 1 yard minimum...

Buddha...Allsport stretches easy in every direction- no hairdryer needed....if you get  your average marine grade vinyl - a hairdryer is a good idea.

Use a pair of pliers/ flat screwdriver to pluck the old  staples out...discard the old material.
Get a decent stapler (Me being an upholstery guy I have all the wonderful tools for this so I'm spoiled..) and try to get some stainless steel staples.... Pull and staple  the material side to side/front to back around the bottom of the seat pan - working to keep it all pulled tight...

If you have to pull a staple here and there to adjust it as you're working that's fine..you'll be pulling it tighter most likely... when it's looking good to your satisfaction...trim the excess material off the bottom of the seat.

If it seems too daunting.... Adidas has a pretty seat for you.

Had to put everything way Sunday night for the construction guys working on enlarging the garage for more bike space.
Thought you were going to recover your seat so I didn't think of keeping it out.

I'll post things for sale in a month or so when parts are back out and sorted onto new shelves.

Until then, about all I have access to are the assortment of bolts, washers, other small stuff that's in some plastic sorted bins.
