Just wondering if anybody knows a cheap place to get the 1000km service done.

I live in Brampton and Suzuki of Brampton wants 340 plus taxes and Suzuki of Newmarket wants 289 plus taxes .

I need it done but that sound like a lot of money or I'm just cheap  :)

Sounds steep, you could probably do most yourself & then just take it in for the valave adjust. I'm GTA west to, email me if you want flel35   at   gmail.com

Unfortunately it's the valve adjustment stuff that costs at the shop. They really don't like the time and fiddling that it takes to do a propere job so it costs!

To do a Proper valve adjustment the engine needs to be Cold. There is no way a "sit and wait" service can include a Proper valve adjustment cause the metals are still expanded cause they are warm.

I'm also due for the 600mi (1000km) service.  After looking through the maintenance schedule, it looks like I can do (or have done already) most of the recommended maintenance, with the exception of the valve adjustment.

I am moving in a couple weeks (again) and I don't really want to spend even more money right now, so I'm wondering how vital this valve service is.  Is it something that needs to be done immediately or could I put it off for a few hundred more miles (or more)?

I've had my valves Checked accordingly. Only at the 36,000 service has one shim been added. It didn't Need it, but it was done anyway by my obsessive compulsive German machanic to bring all the valves into line.  :thumb:

Anyone know how much could I expect to pay for the valve check?

Are there any symptoms of misaligned valves?

Generally, the valves won't (shouldn't) Misalign but the Space/Gap changes. A too small a gap and the bike can be hard to start.
