Annoying cheap little part...

Those little yellow plastic caps on the cells of the Yuasa battery tend to break.  I replaced one about 2 years ago.
Lo and behold, I pulled  my battery yesterday to take it in inside for a couple of days during our cold snap, (unheated garage)  and another one's sheared off at the top.
Before I call the dealer, or Yuasa, if anyone happens to have one (or more) of these laying around for some reason, I'd be happy to buy it (them) plus postage if you stick 'em in an envelope and mail to me.
After this battery craps out, I'm goin for the sealed Walmart special.

mine snapped too, but i figured sine the battery is vented anyways, who cares?  It doesn't seem to be spilling acid on the seat or anything.  If I ruin the battery, I'll just replace it with a sealed one.

Is there something stupid I'm missing?

As the battery charges and discharges there is a chemical reaction and usually they kinda boil, spattering battery acid everywhere. Use electrical tape, at least, to tape over the holes to prevent the acid from eating away at painted surfaces and causing some serious rust everywhere else.

Good advice, Scratch.  I did manage to find replacements.  It turned out to be easy.

Two places:

1. I e-mailed Yuasa, customer service.  They are mailing me a few.

2. I called the dealer, who as it turns out, saves the caps every time they replace a battery.  I was told to just stop in and grab a handful.  However, as the dealer is 50 mi one way, I'll probably get the mail from Yuasa first.

    In the meantime, I'm covering the cell with duct-tape over a small square of saran wrap.  Crude, but effective.
