It certainly looks like it. And I couldn't tell you, never priced frames.

Yikes, people have gone nuts.
However I must say I am more likely to buy that than one of the "bobbers" around here.

I never thought of that.  A GS500-powered quad would be quite powerful yet easy to maintain.

gs powered quad was a bad idea as any factory 450 quad have more power high rev-ability more reliable and weigh less.  my polaris predator 500 quad is a single cylinder 498cc (at stock bore) 42 hp.  Big bore kit , exhaust and carb work and your over 50hp plus its liquid cooled.

Singles don't outlast twins between re-builds as far as I know.  I'd love to learn differently.

I'd actually like a quad motor in a GS, like a 700 raptor motor ... I got the mz, but I think a gs frame would have been better ... but the suspension, wheels and everything else on the mz is waaaaaay better.

Far as im concerned, it takes more talent and motivation to bring something old back to life and restore it, then it does to chop it to shaZam!, graft on random parts of unrelated bikes, and call it a bobber...

now, if it was made from scratch, thats a different story.

The Buddha

Made from scratch is easy if you have an unlimited budget. Open the catalog and buy everything that looks like it will fit.
The creativity ... in in the paint in that case. I cant stand it.

It actually takes talent IMHO to put random parts together on something and actually make it look and work right. And no a side ways hung tail light/licence plate combo on your footpeg isn't it.

Classic example - my newest GS is an 93 with a 07 body on it. That really with or without the body installed, looks right. Couple little things are off, but nothing major at all.  and no I didn't do this one. I have done it in the past on an 89 but not this one. I dont like 01+ tail sections but well, otherwise its a good job.

I am working on a buell blast/GR650 basterd ... lets see how it ends up.

Oh no WTF is this - doesn't look near as bad as the other trash I've seen, but still its scareeee ...

And look @ this moron -

http://charlotte.craigslist.org/mcd/2440162540.html

The funny part is -  No title because they didn't issue titles back then and it's never been registered.

Really ... wow ... this was made before titles huh ... so when was that ... 1901, 1902 somewhere in there ?

And this is a bobber - how - http://charlotte.craigslist.org/mcy/2435832733.html
Oh, it has apehangers ... I get it, my bad.

I kinda like the ninja, just not for anywhere in the neighborhood of 3 large. I'm not sure why the second guy doesn't think they issued titles in 1982 though...

Dont like neither of them

That actually is the whole point of this entire thread ... how people take a perfectly functional and normal albeit boring motorcycle and turn it into a garbage home made creation that looks awful and works even worse ...

That ninja is a travesty ... but I think he just unbolted the tail section ... the tail is removable like on an sv, but then you just hang a small bracket on the frame and put a seat on it and call it a bobber  :cookoo:

What would be cool is the opposite...

Put a 1200cc Harley EVO engine into a sport-bike frame.

HUGE low end torque, tons of aftermarket, and simpler then a pile of shaZam! to work on.

Oh, and debadge the sonofabitch, there's enough Harley branding to last the world the next thousand years all ready.
