Yea ... however that was the whole point. It didn't work like a tourer, and worse yet it didn't do anything else either, say would you rather have a GW or a cb750 from that same year ...
Cool.

Oh yea this trash is worth 3G.
http://charlotte.craigslist.org/mcy/2577808331.html

And this fool is encouraging other fools do bob the thing ...
http://charlotte.craigslist.org/mcy/2576362412.html

More nice bikes ruined - and doesn't have title to boot, and @ 2G a bargain dont you think ...
For reference - my 81 with title and running but everything not needed to run - as in run down the road, not just idle - sitting in a box with fresh yellow powdercoat, sold for 650 quite fast in spring.
http://charlotte.craigslist.org/mcy/2602026093.html
So this trash for 2K is a downright steal.

WTF - OK beautiful bike ... so why reference a "bobber" in the tag line -
http://charlotte.craigslist.org/mcy/2604407204.html

Of course this trash is worth 6500 ... but WTF is it. And which of the 2 pics is the bike ... and why is it sitting in front of all those other places ...
http://charlotte.craigslist.org/mcy/2600937939.html

And @ 1600 ... the least I expect is someone to post pics wihtout that blinding glare.
http://charlotte.en.craigslist.org/mcy/2570740502.html

Another $4g bobber ...
http://charlotte.craigslist.org/mcy/2581335271.html

Apparently this on is "clean" and hence 2g is a bargain.
http://charlotte.craigslist.org/mcy/2577860085.html

What was this a gs250 ? @ 1800 its dirt cheap too.
It was a good learing bike for a kid/girl or even a guy who has the sense to "learn" till this fool happened to it.
http://charlotte.craigslist.org/mcy/2563368075.html

Sad really. I never even look @ bikes on cl anymore. Depressing.

Apparently it can be made ito a bopper.

The good: I just changed the oil and oil filter. The bike starts up on first try. I've ridden it around the neighborhood on several occasions. Only has 1313 miles. Great mpg once its road worthy. Can be customized into a bopper or a cafe racer.

And Its got great gas mileage - and
(Update: I bought a carb-kit for this bike. I took it to a local shop to have them cleaned and rebuilt. They put everything together right but the seats that the needle goes into to stop the flow of gas. Apparently there is a crack next to the seat. May need a new carburetor, which I've seen on e-bay from time to time. This bike runs good and only has 1313 original miles. Again, I don't have time for this project so I'm selling it. First $500 takes it home. I can part it out for more than that but would hate to do that to this running, low mileage bike. Thanks!)

Aaaah, cracked carbs and still great mpg. Cant beat that.

Cool.

:cookoo:  No title because they didn't issue titles back then and it's never been registered.

Not a bober - something he bought at auction and wants $350 for this POS. Even the frame is dented.

Made offer of $150 as that's all its worth - if the engine runs. Rest of parts are junk. Seller was a jerk head. Don't need it. More value as scrap metal.

The Buddha

It is worth 30c a lb as scrap, just about 130 or so, your $150 was very reasonable ...

Clip-ons are worth at least $100 if they are straight, which is probably what Adidasguy was really looking at!

My favorite part of these bobber posts is how the sellers keep reposting with $100 taken off the price... again... and again

WTF is this and what is the fool trying to say -

http://charlotte.craigslist.org/mcy/2631296025.html

"This is a real deice wild Bobber/Chopper custom build in 2011 90 % completed driveshaft '900cc it is best one on the webb. I will not sale under 4495.00 it easy no $$
No Bobber/Choper. "

WTF is "deice wild" and the driveshaft is 90% completed ? so what about the other 10% and 900cc it is the best one on the web - what web - a spider web ? Or has he seen the entire World Wide web ?

Now WTF does this mean - I will not sale under 4495.00 it easy no $$ <- Its easy no $$ and the best one of all - No Bobber/Choper - definetly no Bobber/choper ...

Cool.

And how many of y'all have wanted a Yamaha GSXR 650 ... I have waited for years and years for yamaha to build one of those.

http://charlotte.craigslist.org/mcy/2628750430.html

Of course this garbage has been around since 05 when I spoke to that fool. The same $3850 too.

http://charlotte.craigslist.org/mcy/2583376337.html

And this is a bobber ?
http://charlotte.craigslist.org/mcy/2608886897.html

I like it a lot more than that other one which is a bobber ... but why the hell you need to call it something it is not.

This ones I guess OK - only $500 for this POS - though it sounds like it isn't even good for parts.
Its not even street legal!
I like this line: "And, despite how it may look, it's mostly OEM or I have the OEM parts."
And this: "There will also be some electrical work to make this totally street legal (i.e., properly wired brake lights). You will need a truck or trailer to cart it to your garage. Included with the sale are all the original electronics and plastic"

I don't want to do it, but I am moving and need to sell this bike.

Up for grabs is my custom 1978 GS550. With just over 24,000 original miles, the bike is still in great condition. And, despite how it may look, it's mostly OEM or I have the OEM parts.

I bought it from a great mechanic/welder who took amazing care of the bike. In fact, as a part of the sale, I have been okay'd to give you his contact info in case you have any questions or need any advice on the bike. He's been extremely helpful as I learned the ropes of maintaining the bike.

Despite this, I just did not have the time/tools to keep the bike fully maintained. The battery is dead now and there is an oil leak under near the stator that I replaced. Those of you that know, the R/R in these bikes can go bad, but this one is still good according to my meter. There will also be some electrical work to make this totally street legal (i.e., properly wired brake lights). You will need a truck or trailer to cart it to your garage.

Included with the sale are all the original electronics and plastic, as well as three (yes three) seat options.

The bike is also a registered collector vehicle, so you never have to buy tabs again.

Email me with any questions or to setup a viewing.

Not a POS - but I just saw this. Sooooo tempting - even has a V&H exhaust. From what they're saying about prices of GS500's down under, I should buy these  up, clean them up and put them on a boat.

Im selling my Gs500 that is in perfect working condition. It has been a daily commuter for me and now it is time for me to let it go. I am open to all reasonable offers but please no lowballers. The bike mechanically is in perfect working condition. All that is wrong with it is a missing blinker on the left side. It reads 23k and still running great. Other than that it starts right up and shifts smoothly. I would prefer call or texting at 253-330-4555. You can ask for Jay.

WTF? Another bike missing the blue cap! From what I can figure out in my parts, seems the high beam on all the time has the indicator on, which heats up that spot with the blue indicator cap. Eventually, all the heat from the bulb breaks down the glue and plastic and then one day it just pops off.
