So after 3 years my lunchbox is finally toast. I'm wondering if there is any difference between me gettinga new one or switching to pod filters. Will I have to readjust the air/fuel mixture or should I be ok wwitha straight swap? Anyone have suggestions?

why is it toast? k&n's are all reusable, just get the cleaning kit (~$20 i think). i happen to have the kit already from my car filter. they sell em at autozone and the like.

Airboxes are a very good thing. :)  Going to pods will definitely require jetting changes, and can be very hard for anyone without a lot of experience to to get dialed in correctly. Even when jetted properly it's typical to only gain a small amount of hp up top and have a larger loss down low. Gas mileage will also decrease.

i got pods because they were really cheap, i was rejetting anyway

i also hated the airbox, pain the ass to get in and out for any maintenance

that being said i had to try a couple jets to get it right, 150s were a little rich

I'd like to hear how this works out for you as far as jetting and any differance in how she runs.
Jetting I would think should be really close.
From a stock airbox to a filter that completely replaces the air box there's usually a descent jetting differance on most bikes. My "guess" would be that from a k&N lunch box to individual clamp ons you may need to go up slightly if at all. All carbs have a little bit of "stand off" air/fuel that's bouncing back out the carb slightly as the valves open and close. The k&n lunchbox "might" let the other carb draw a little bit of that at certain rpms so going to individuals "may" make it run just slightly leaner.
If you go pods, it's been my experience on performance RD's that the K&N style work better than the foam style and the longer rather than shorter.

What jets did you end up with. If I recall I sent you a jet pack last year didn't I.
For 150's to be rich - you had to likely have floats too high. Did you check that ?

Anyway, curious to know what you ended up running. You were at 5000 ft elevation too if I recall ...

Cool.
