1995 Build: formerly sparkle pink

It was a bright sparkle pink (that's right, lots of glitter), with white tribal pinstripes and a fluorescent pink seat that was mostly faded to gray.  While it somehow got many compliments when I got it...it wasn't exactly my cup of tea.  I never met the woman who rode it- I'd imagine she'd wear matching leathers or something deliciously scandalous.

There are still a lot of minor cosmetic details I want to work on...but I finally get to ride it.  The frame, swingarm, wheels, forks and a few other bits and pieces are powder coated.  The paint was bought at Sherwin Williams ('spiced merlot pearl').  It has an R6 shock, F1 front end, '89 clipons, corbin seat, Buell signals (still have to put the rear signals on and give a cleaner fenderectomy), and a Vance and Hines exhaust (that sounds oh-so sexy!  I bought it off somebody around here).  I also lowered it an 1.5 inches to fit my petite frame.  I can't yet give any feedback on performance of these modifications (although I smile the entire time I'm riding him, so something is right).  Honestly, though, I didn't make these modifications for performance reasons.  I just wanted to do it.  Any enhancements are perks  ;).

Thanks to BaltimoreGS and ver4 for your help, patience, lessons, positivity, negativity and humor (oh, and the use of your truck).

Those mismatched mirrors look even worse in person.

Things I ponder about:

F1 calipers are a pain in the butt to bleed and I hate them.
Not all SV chain guards fit a GS without modifications...why didn't I check the year?
I have to make sure my face shield is down before riding since I don't have a front fender.  Nothing like pebbles in the eyeballs.
I love my GS- it was all worth it!

Love the Corbin seat. I'm going to get one someday, but right now I have to get off the bike every 20 minutes or so on long rides.

I really need to get my frame painted. Black looks so much better.

them Corbin seats look out of place... looks like you stole it off a cruiser.

Yeah, they're definitely contoured more for the butt!  Much better than the 2x4 that is the stock seat.  XLAR8- you might like the other version of the corbin better - it's slightly more sleek.  This one is the 'gunfighter and lady' style.  It's  as sturdy as it looks- excellent quality.

It's a much better color than rust  :thumb:!!  I'm hoping the powder coating will stand up to the elements since I store it outside.  I chose a 'satin' finish rather than matte or gloss.
