Well, after reading http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=56221.0 about his tach light out, of course I had to go check mine.

Only had the bike a little more then a week, finally road ready today after a whole crapton of minor things and one major.  :thumb: and inspection tomorrow morning :)

Just went outside to check mine and..... nope, both dead.

I will be riding To work at night, and home in the sunlight of the morning.
So I need to replace them.

Already put $400 to $500 into getting it ready for the road and pretty much almost broke now so a manual has to wait til my next pay.

Not sure if the bulbs and setup from that bike in that other topic and mine are the same.

I assume its #13?    BULB (12V,3.4W)?

and where exactly do the bulbs go?
pull out the speedo and tach and the bulb sockets right there below it?

I just hope its only the bulbs, cause I dont think the previous "Rider" was all there. hahaha

Its dark out (no garage) so I'm not really into taking things apart with limited light, else I would go out there and check for myself.

Thanks :)

194 tag bulbs from a car will work fine.  The bulbs are in the bottom of the gauge bucket if I remember correctly.   :thumb:

No need to pay for shipping from the web.

Go to auto parts store, or auto parts section of Wallys, Searz whatever.

Get a couple of #194 or #158 bulbs. #168 bulbs also work but are a little brighter/couple more watts. Brighter may not really be what you want - too bright is distracting from the dark road.

This is a good application for LED bulbs if you get ones that fit properly, just because it's a pain in the behind to get in there to change them, so long-life bulbs are a good thing. But not all LED bulbs fit well or work well in there. And some may have long LED life but not do well in actual vehicles (I'm looking at a couple of ebay cheapies I think I'm going to end up epoxy-dipping if they fit properly and light well enough, because I suspect damp will kill them quickly if I don't do that.)
