I am in desperate need for a rear rotor on my 2000 GS.  I have been looking online and the cheapest OEM part I can find is $150.  I was wondering what years would be compatible for my 2000 so I can broaden my search and possibly find a used one in good condition.  Also, if you have or know of where I can get one for a decent price let me know.   Thanks!

They're all the same, 89-... All years use the same rotor.

You can also buy a chinese one on e-bay, lots of people use and aprove them (me included)

Last year I made my first ebay purchase, a front rotor for my 02 GS. Paid $50 for it only looking at like new low mileage ones from top rated sellers.  Could have had one for $10-20 less from a less established seller.  Rotor from a 07 looked and performed like brand new.

Back in 99 I replaced the rear rotor on my 97 GS with a new EBC rotor.  A well known popular aftermarket brake parts outfit, many here use their pads.  Paid $100-150 for it, forget exact amount but was considerably less than oem.  Bike sat for a couple years after it was totaled in 03 and that rear rotor was completely rusted when son put it back in service as a commuter. Got the wheels back and put them on my 02 last year when son parted out the 97 after getting a few years out of it.

This spring after limited use last winter splashing thru the salt water of NE Ohio the 07 ebay front oem rotor still looked and performed like new but that rear EBC rotor was completely rusted over again.  The rust wore off this spring and brake worked OK again but no comparison with the oem front ebay rotor.  Could have got down and cleaned that rust ioff the EBC rotor but it's getting very difficult now for me to get back up again.   :icon_lol:
407,400 miles in 30 years for 13,580 miles/year average.  Started riding 7/21/84 and hung up helmet 8/31/14.

do note however: front caliper and pads are different between 89-95 and 96-00.  rears are same.

Rotor same (except for black .vs. gold) on front rotor for all years.
You do have to note the year of your front calipers when changing pads as mentioned.
I toss old calipers (threw out a pile this weekend cleaning up the bike cave) and put on nearly new used ones from 2004+. Cheaper than buying pads and rebuilding old calipers.
Rear calipers I do the same, even though they are the same for all years. It just makes sense to throw out old, crusty calipers and replace them with clean, newer ones.
