I hope you are not thinking of just opening the cap at the top of the tube and pull everything out with the tube still on the bike?  You can only get the spacer, washer and (big) spring out that way.

BTW, are those parts in the pix for the GS500?  They look a little different than mine.

It appears to have  Race Tech "gold vavle" cartridge emulators installed. Its the brass part between the damping rod and the main fork spring.

You should probably call Racetech.  I've heard their customer service is pretty good.  I'll be in this same situation in about a week after my emulators arrive.

Thanks, JamesG.  Never seen the race tech before.

Brandon, in that case, it is definitely more than a 30 minute job.    Since it seems like it'll be your first time, I would say a day would be a good start.  It depends on the tools you have and your skills.  From my experience with disassembling the GS forks, the biggest pain is removing the bottom allen bolt (14) that holds the damper.  If you are lucky, it would just come out.  In any case, I suggest you search the threads and read up a little on how folks here deal with that annoyance.  Good luck!
