Finally got my paypal verified and back up today simply for parts for my bike. (closed it due to a thief retracting a payment and paypal did squat about it a few years ago)

So I'm ALMOST ready to start buying. (check I deposited today wont clear til Weds, then til funds get transferred into Paypal)

Need a gas tank for a 94 GS500 (not the newer style ones)
Nothing that would require major work on, mine is already there... well, unfixable dents anyways. (just want it replaced)
Dont need anything except the tank, plan to swap out the parts from my current one.
Condition of the paint doesnt matter, if it sucks, I plan to repaint it anyways as the rest of my bike needs a repainting.
Already asked how much at the local salvage yard and they want $250... just dont see myself spending 1/3 of what I paid for the bike, on a simple gas tank.
This is my starter bike, I'm not gonna throw tons of money at it but I will put all the blood sweat and elbow grease I can on it.

Headlight bucket $25 + shipping  ($20+shipping on ebay but I love this site!) haha
I need one not dented, cracked or rusted to heck!
mine already is dented and a real ^%$# trying to get it straightened and I didnt succeed, but its slightly cracked from recent fall so its gotta be replaced.

Also need but in no hurry for, a Trip knob.
and a perfectly intact tachometer thats a direct swap with a 94, or the whole setup minus the need for a speedo if the price and condition is right.
current ones bolts are broken off in back. (held on by zip ties til replaced)

Wont have money in my paypal until late this week as I stated above.

Must be able to give pics, and detailed pics of the tank if I'm interested as I dont make enough money to just give it away. haha

Thanks

How bad is the dent on your existing tank? Does it hold fuel? I might be interested.

Interested in it after I get a replacement u mean?

Its perfectly fine and on there right now.
Just prefer to try and replace it instead of pulling out what I can of that Big dent or filling it in with the experience I have none of hahaha

Bike already looks like crap up close (but getting better slowly with cleaning)
Idiot PO didnt tape off properly when spray painting (shudder), so theres some light mist on the frame and on the engine covers.

Just wanna get it lookin as good as I can.

pic of the tank before my wipe.
tank didnt touch the ground but it was filled the night before otw to work and some leaked out over the right side and ate some of the shoddy paint away.
which is why I want to get it replaced already, looks even more like crap now hahaha
(dropped and broke my digital camera when I got home from the wipe so I cant take anymore pics for now, hmm or if I ever need pics that bad, can hook up an Old web cam to my laptop and take that out to it)

Yep. I'll take it after you replace. Looks fine for my purposes. I crashed pretty hard this week, and my beater tank doesn't hold fuel anymore.

Until I have a lot of sponsorship cash coming my way, it doesn't really make sense to throw nice looking tanks at the pavement.

that is exactly why my first racebike was a 500 buck GS..... I could part the bits if I crashed....
still have that bike....almost 19 yrs now
want Iain's money to support my butt in kens shop
