Do you know where I might be able source one from?

Make an offer - that's what I did and got it cheaper than the "buy it now". Comes primed so you have to paint it.
or from here, but I find probably cheaper to buy direct and wait for shipping from Germany.

Now let's get this back to the topic of the bike cave.

WOW!!  Lookin' pretty snazzy, man...I may have to build myself one in the back yard...I have an RV parking spot that is 15'x35' that I can't get my trailer into (back alley is too narrow...sound familiar?), I can barely get my truck into the space with a three point turn...maybe in a year or two...for now the bike gets parked in the two car garage that only fits 1 1/2 cars...if I had compact cars two might fit, but GMC Envoy & Dodge Mega Cab...not a chance (the MegaCab doesn't even fit into the garage...too long by about 18" )

I know I will eventually talk my wifey into getting a scooter, and if not, my 12yo is already saving for hers...

Well, decided to tackle the last remaining wall. Moved the radial arm saw for the first time in 20 years. There is floor I haven't seen in over 2 decades. Can't wait to attack this wall this weekend and get the wall slats up.

Found a box of parts behind it. I have no idea how I got all this stuff. Do I really need 6 or more rear axles? 4 top tripples? 5 passenger grab handles? This is just one box I found. I know the other boxes I put away have more parts.

Then I do remember buying a new gun metal wheel rim for like $30 ( + $20 P&H)from Greece in the original box. To the right of it is a granite garden bowl I won in a raffle from the West Seattle Garden Tour and hidden at the bottom of the photo is a 25 note set of brass cathedral chimes for a pipe organ. Gee - where does all this stuff come from? Am I a magnet for crap-o-la?

I have to admit the granite bowl will be a nice addition to the garden. Big and heavy! (I borrowed the baby. Baby will not be for sale)

PS: Yes - there will be a parts sale when I get things done and all sorted out.

Looking great!  If you really want to buy the baby, Lina says we are open to negotiation on price...... :thumb:

Installed one of the key elements of any bike cave. used a plastic parts bin for cleanliness - to catch the caps.

Funny thing about that Mike's Hard...I was down in Idaho for the 4th of July weekend and I bought some of that for my wifey...it says on the label that it is a "flavored beer"...yet in Canada it says "Vodka Drink"...do they put that on the label to be able to sell it in the grocery stores?  cause we openned one of each and did a taste test...the formula has to be the same, cause you couldn't tell the difference...

Still jealous of the "man cave", I mean "bike cave"...

"Premium Malt Beverage with Natural Flavors and Artificial Color" ...  5% Alcohol

Funny thing about booze here. Bought this at Costco. I don't know how, but they also have Baileys Irish Cream and gobs of beers. I though Baileys was considered hard stuff.

made more progress on the cave. Having an opener helps. Now I need to put in the mini dorm room type fridge I have so I don't have to run into the house for a cold one. More pictures after this weekend's work.

Why dont you just buy a mini fridge keg cooler kit so you can have beer on tap?

made one of these with a slightly bigger fridge to have my home brew on tap, i also know people that made one with a chest freezer and have 3 varieties on tap

Last of the cabinets came in today. 2 uppers, 2 lowers and a work bench to that goes on the lowers.
Seems Costco was going to sell the kit then backed  out (One box labeled "Costco kit accessories") which is why the whole set was half price at Sears.

Also more parts came in for our "Build a GS500 from the ground up"  project.

I can't wait for this one!

Filled cracks. Primed oily spots. Got floor epoxy on.
Now to finish the bottom foot of the walls, add trim around doors.
My favorite wall stuff is the Gladiator. It is steel and well built. Sears has good prices but also available at Lowes. At Sears, you can order on-line and if you pay $79 a year (like Amazon premium service) you get free shipping or 99 cents for priority and just a couple dollars for next day. In one order I saved hundreds on shipping with that (cause local stores didn't have any of what I wanted in stock and didn't want to drive down to Tacoma to pick up the stuff.)

Maybe not perfect - but it sure made a mish-mosh of 4 different pourings of concrete done over a period of probably 80 years look pretty good. A nice floor will make me want to keep things clean. (I know some was done in 2006 and the PO did part in 1986.) didn't really have money to grind it all smooth or re-pour the entire floor.

MUCH better than it was. I'm happy with my first attempt at applying an epoxy floor.

OMG Gladiator Garage! AHHHHH gives me nightmares of work! When that stuff was still in Development we showcased it at the House of Innoventions. I'm so sick of Gladiator Garage LOL. Just the name incites memories of idiotic people saying it looks like a garage what's so "new" about it! Rolling eyes here. I'll stick with Craftsman!

Sorry Mary...but maybe it's a guy thing... I like the Gladiator garage system...very professional looking!!

The floor came out great and I'm still jealous!!

More progress getting the cabinets in. Work bench now in the back and the final cabinet is on the floor being assembled.
The irony is a parts bike gets to be in the cave before any of my bikes.
I like that solid maple work table. This weekend we start organizing tools and parts.

adidasguy

Work begins - even though there is still work to do organizing the cave. That will happen as we work. "Where's that tool?" answer:"Don't know. Let's make a place for it so we can find it again"

adidasguy

Spend much of today sorting parts. Can't find some things but found others I forgot about.  More stuff going on shelves and work is being done on the bike build and Trey. Still more parts to sort and label, but just have to do some work.
