Exhaust bolt size?

Well, got back from a short ride a few hrs ago.
Replaced one of the bolts holding my plate on as the one on there couldnt be tightened as it was rattling to heck and annoying the hell out of me!

Going down the road and I hear some more rattling.. what the hell now!? im thinking
Bike felt and exhaust sounded a lil off so I went home.

Checking her out and found the problem...
Left side exhaust pipe mount (or whatever its called) is completely off and dangling there. (which was making the rattling noise)
Both bolts gone. (think those were the ONLY bolts I didnt check after my wipe Weds... FIGURES!)
Not moving it until I get bolts for it so I'm hoping I can get something that will work at Wal mart when I stop by after my nephew gets out of work at 2:15am (now 10:45pm)
Or else its back to the salvage yard tomorrow as I was missing one for the other side too... oye!

What size are the bolts?

Dont have a manual yet asI just mailed the $ out for one from someone on here yesterday.

Would prefer going to look with knowing the specs instead of just taking the other bolt out and going at it by eye. (just incase I cant match it up by hand and have to look through a container or whatever) if Wal mart would even have anything. (first time going through all this mechanical shiz in such detail, havin fun tho)  :thumb:

and it would be bolt #2 in the diagram below (no size listed but I will check others)

I'm all over the place today, so a simple search of the topics escaped me. haha

Did just order 2 new gaskets for the pipes tho.

Didnt go to wal mart, nephew wouldnt respond online or phone calls.... coulda just said No I dont wanna go........

I'll stop at Lowes tomorrow and grab 4 brand new bolts instead of just replacing one side.

(edit)
pipes a lil rusty too.
Might as well pick up material to strip, sand/scrape, clean and paint while im there.

Lowes and Homer Despot often don't have high grade bolts.
If you don't have a bike dealer close by, I suggest you try a bolt store (no joking - around here we have Tacoma Screw  :icon_eek: ) or maybe an auto parts store. Those header bolts are hardened steel with a built in washer/shoulder. get a hardened bolt and add a washer if it doesn't have a shoulder. You don't want those header bolts to break or stretch due to soft (Chinese recycled ? ) steel.

If you have to get cheepies, order good ones and replace them later. Don't forget to use anti-seize.

Those bolts really should come from the dealer.I use antiseize and torque to 15 foot pounds, service manual torque specs. If the torque on the bolts are uneven, they will back out again.

Guess I'll wait and see.
They will be just one more thing to check before I ride each day, so if they start going loose, I'll just order some OEM.
But thanks, gotta remember to buy a Torque wrench now too. :)
and anti seize.

Now if only my clothes would hurry up in the dryer so I can get this show on the road! (LOT to do today before work tonight)
