Too Many "Sticky" Threads

Does anyone else think their are too many "sticky" threads on the main forum and for sale forum? They take up half the page leave little room for the new threads.

I run a forum as well, and from what I have learned is that people will rarely if ever look beyond the first page. Therefore a lot of threads get forgotten about. Im guilty of this too, no one wants to move on to page too. Im sure 95% of people who view this (and other) forums are the same.

So maybe those should be moved somewhere, like a separate forum, to open up the space. Just my opinion and $0.04 (yes mines worth more a fellow forum owner  :icon_lol:)

agreed. also, since the "important" threads (rules and whatnot) are half-way down the page, noobs are likely to miss them and therefore engage in noobish behavior.

I've become a fan of "mark all read" and just ignore everything.
Too much crap stuck that isn't important or current.

Sticky threads? There are sticky threads? My eyes now automatically ignore the top half of the main forum page - all thread titles in bold.

Why can't we just have an area just for 'STICKY's'.   :dunno_black:

I'm with you on that.  When the moderators decide what's important to keep on top and what's not they will take action, and until then I will ignore the top half or so of the page.

sorry twism i dont think one person opinion is worth more than another. im a forum owner as well. i place no more importance in my posts here than anyone elses. i let the board judge whats good and whats not. that aside i kinda agree. alot of stickies. perhaps a seperate sticky section. ill support stickying this as well lol
