What year rear shock will work with an 05 GS500F

After I have been dealing with carb issues the last couple of weeks my son came out to his bike after an appointment he found a small puddle of liquid under his bike. He thought it must have been gas, it wasn't, it was the oil from his rear shock.

Before I go looking I was wondering if any other year GS shock will work with the 05 F model. I've also seen references to using other shocks but would need one that requires minimal modifications. I'm not that competent/confident of a mechanic yet.

Any ideas/info would be greatly appreciated.

I have a stock one with low miles I just took off.

I use a Katana 750 rear shock but it's really stiff and would require a fork spring upgrade.I'd go with another GS shock, unless you're comfortable upgrading the front springs.Any year GS shock will work.
PICS are GONE never TO return.
