I bought my 04f last month as slowly to find put the PO didn't do too much other then ride and drop the bike once.

So I figured ill do the plugs today as it only takes about 5 minute all together even on a fairing bike.

Here is new versus old, what do you think? Looks decent to me but then again I'm not that great with motorcycle stuff. the gap was at .030 of an inch

You really need to use a camera with a macro setting. Photo 1 suggests that the engine is running fine... I don't see any obvious oil, and they don't appear to be glazed from heat/lean condition.

A closer photo of the electrode would indicate if you had any detonation or anything. Need a better picture though.

sorry that was posted on my phone, not the best camera on it.

Those look like they came out of every GS I've ever worked on.  They're fine.  I'd even keep them (not in, but maybe under the seat to use to get home).

Those could go another 10k easy, I got 25K out of my originals and they still weren't causing any problems. If I were changing plugs I think I would go with the Iridium DPREIX-9 plugs, I've heard nothing but good things about them.

Iridium  are what went in. They were only like $5-6 each.

You're right, I didn't even notice, good choice.

I've only heard bad things about iridium plugs in motorcycle applications.

Really?, like what, I've got over 50,000 miles on one set in a 600 Suzuki Bandit and it still runs like a Demon.

I don't have any issues with mu Iridiums either. So far about 4000 miles on them.  :dunno_white:

I changed the plugs when I bought my GS, they've done 26,000km since and been cleaned and gapped once. Still running fine.
