Trick to getting the float needle valve seat out?

Finally got around to doing some carb maintenance to try and stop the fuel lead out of the side of the carbs. Got things disassembled but can't get the flat needle valve seats out. Is there a trick to this? I'm looking at the new one and it doesn't seem to have threads on it so it doesn't appear to be screwed in. Just looks to be seated in there but I've tried twisting it with a pliers and vise grips but it doesn't move. What do I need to do to get these off?

Mine was in there pretty good and I just used a vise grip to yank it out.  You sure you're using enough man power? :)

I'm getting old but I think I can summon up enough man power. Just scared to apply pressure where I shouldn't and break something.

Got it out. My neighbour had a good quality small vise grip I was able to use to grab hold of it and twist it out. Guess it's time to update my tool kit.....
