woohoo holidays! Time to spend some time and money to get the GS500 ready and enjoy it.

It's 96000Km on the clock and I just ordered a new head cover gasket and some helicoils to fix the head cover bolts that were destroyed with an impact gun, lots of years ago. It's just that they are not going to hold anymore when I open to to the valve job this week.

I'm afraid about the mileage of my bike: it's 96000Km on the counter, 60.000Miles.

There are other people with that mileage here.

May I ask about your opinion about camshaft chain and camshaft chain guide? Should I expect to replace them? If I'm not wrong, Suzuki uses to replace the chain at 40.000Miles.

I can read some advice in the Clymer manual to check if chain is out of specs, but nothing about chain guide. On wednesday I'll get my hands on it, just gathering some info.

I put 80k miles on a 97 GS and have 95k miles on my current 02 GS without any cam chain, tensioner, or guide wear problems on either bike.  I'm going out for a ride shortly and will not be concerned with them.

Knock on wood.   :icon_lol:
407,400 miles in 30 years for 13,580 miles/year average.  Started riding 7/21/84 and hung up helmet 8/31/14.
