Hi, i recently purchased some jets off of buddha, to fit my 2004 gs500, which was stock. i changed the jets from 17.5/60/130 to 20/60/132.5,  as recomended.

This made the bike run fine up until it hit about 8k rpm and then it started spluttering and wouldnt climb the rev band anymore.

It ran okay with the 130 in so the 132.5 must have made it a bit rich and so, as i happened to have a spare K&N lunchbox i put that on to see what it would run like, and now it pulls much better past 8k.

although i was looking at the matrix and it says a jetting of 20/65/142.5 for a stock with lunchbox only?

How can a 132.5 main jet 10 below what the matrix says make it run to rich?

should i check my float height? or should i play around with the needle jet, maybe its to high?

Also with the k&N lunch on i have 2 pipes that origionally connected to the stock airbox, with no where to go. One comes from the top of the engine, and one from a little thing mounted on the left of the frame under the tank, which has 2 hoes going from it to the cylinder. what should i do to these two tubes?

any help would be appreciated.

Lunch box is a huge step up in terms of air inlet.
If you lost rpm with 132.5 remove that O ring under the needle and see if it runs better, you have a too rich situation. Just sort that out. Lunch box with stock pipe is a hard one to work out.
Cool.
