Trouble with this crankcase cover

So I bought a "new" crankcase cover and can't remember how the screws line up. There's long and short screws. I've tried several combinations but no luck. Here's the cover

Are the screw positions in the Clymer manual? I would have looked in that but the book is hiding somewhere. Also, does anyone know how to put on the signal rotor and generator, also shown in that pic? I'm afraid if I install it the wrong way I'll burn up the engine  :dunno_white: Is that even possible?

Not sure if this helps but I took a pic of the screw positions...

I forgot to mention it's the 10 or so screws for the outside case. Thanks for the diagram though,

You mean the bolts around the side cover? If they are all the same length it doesn't matter. But if there is 2 that are longer, you have to find the deeper holes. If they aren't shown in a parts diagram, take a nail or something and check the depth that way.

And I think the signal generator can go on 2 or 3 different ways. If you put it on wrong, the bike wont even start. Oh- the wires should dictate how it's mounted- they shouldn't be long enough to twist the generator.

It's opener there in the wide open air...

Do you know what size screws I can use to screw the generator onto the cover? I thought I removed them but turns out i don't have them anymore  :cookoo:
