I cannot find the words to describe the change in my little bike that I did today...

I finally got my 15 tooth in after the guy on ebay sent me the wrong one... and all i can say is OMG! the gearing was perfect, It was like that bike was made to have a 15 tooth on it. Theres no longer that slight hesitation at takeoff, the clutch is quicker and doesn't need to be feathered and the revs don't drop anymore once you fully engage the clutch, its just smooth and perfect every shift point seems better and no matter the speed/gear it feels like its in the sweet spot... It also finally pulls the nose on a medium launch (i did my first wheelie today O GOD!).

If I had been suzuki I would of put this gearing in there stock or maybe a 16/43 setup because it makes the bike feel so right. I was looking into a new bike soon but damn, once i get used to this power I still have a pipe lunchbox and rejet to look forward to as far as power so I think i might keep her for a year or 2... Hell I bet once my valves get completely done it will be even better.  Also for anyone out there with a wearing chain... Get a new one the change is like a new bike.

I have put almost 5000 miles on my baby since I got her in June and I feel I will be putting many many more on her.  I will soon put up a build post of all I have done once she's purdy enough to put up her picture she's sorta a troll right now(dont tell her i said that or i know she will decide to start acting up)...

a little update, I just did my first 2 up ride with my fiance and wow its impressive how much this helps 2 up riding. No more slipping the clutch or big revs to get going just nice and smooth and easy on the bike... Biggest recommendation for 2 up riders.

Also doing the swap is like 5 mins...

you need a 8mm socket
a 10 mm wrench
a 22mm socket
a 17 mm socket or wrench
a 12 mm box wrench
a pair of needle nose or ring pliers
and your new sprocket...

Put it on the center stand
pull the clutch cover  (8mm socket, keep the bolts in order)
use the pliers to pop off the clip
and just pull the sprocket off the output shaft and the chain will come with it
now you have a free chain put you 15t into the chain and put it on the output shaft
now you have a bunch of slack in the chain
pull the cotter pin out and loosen the axle bolt (dont take it off)
it took 5 half turns with the 12mm wrench to get the proper tightness
tighten the axle bolt put the clutch cover back on and tighten it down in a star pattern
drop the bike onto the side stand and check chain tension if its good torque the axle to 47ish ft/lbs and put the cotter pin back in (tighten till the cotter pin can fit in a hole)
and now your ready for your first drive of amazingness

tbh revs at 60-80 are virtually the same... I don't really have much of a change. at 60 im at 5k at 70 im at 6k and at 80 im roughly at 6500-6700 I commute alot on my bike and I actually expect better gas mileage because 70% of my driving is either stop and go or surface streets and the other 30 is a 20 min a day ride to work at 5:20 AM that generally is traffic free

But how about sprockets and chain fitment  to each other? If i have a DID whole sprockets and chain set and later change only front sprocket to JT 16t i think it will cause more chain or front sprocket wearing

crzydood17

as long as its a quality chain and sprocket your fine there are reasons for the specs on chains its so that everyone has the same size stuff, a 520 sprocket from one is the same as a 520 from another.
