Exhaust Keeps Getting Louder

About 4000 miles ago I installed a Jardine exhaust system with a QMI - Quiet Module Insert (also known as a db-killer) on my 2007 GS500F.

The exhaust system is great but lately I noticed that the bike is getting louder. A LOT louder.
I don't understand.
Up until very recently the exhaust system had a nice mellow tone but recently ear protection is a MUST!
What happened?

Look for a separation in one of the fittings. Something is loose and exhaust is getting out before the muffler. Have you checked your header bolts? The springs or clamps holding the two parts of the pipe together?

Anyone here ever re-pack one of these things?
Is it worth the effort? The re-pack kit is about $24.00

Seems like the entire muffler would be a rattle-trap after a tear-down & re-build.
Anyway, while researching I found this thread that says on a Jardine RT by 3200 miles the stock packing is almost completely burnt out!

Another fellow was saying that he can usually go as far as 5000 before a repack.
Holy crap. I had no idea these things burnt out so quick (and got so loud).

If I tear it apart, I'll post a few pictures so you can see what was left inside after 4000 miles of rather gentle usage.
And thanks guys for your input on this,
