Flush mount turn signals?

There are state and DOT requirements for turn signals. Some older manufactured bikes are grandfathered in.
basically, turn signals are:

Same height above road
9 inches apart

None of the fully integrated ones are DOT approved.

There are other laws on the books - like license plates must be horizontal and illuminated & visible.

Check DOT, HSTA and your state laws. Do whatever you want. Just don't cry when you get a ticket for illegal or non-standard equipment.

Also remember - a BIG part of you staying alive is other drivers seeing you. Make your bike cute - hide the lights, be cool and no one will see you. BAM! you get hit.

There is a difference between a track bike, a show bike and a street legal bike.

Thank you. I totally agree with that.

And yes, there are some very silly laws out there. For instance, in FL, nnmarried couples may not commit "lewd acts" and live together in the same residence. If an elephant is left tied to a parking meter, the parking fee has to be paid just as it would for a vehicle. It is illegal to sing in a public place while attired in a swimsuit.

However, if you're trying to imply that an integrated tail light is more dangerous than flush mount or stock turn signals, I would have to disagree. In fact, the lighted portion of my "blinker" is bigger and brighter than other turn signals. To say they are dangerous is just ridiculous.

Not looking to get in a pissing match here but my buddy's totaled ZX-6R at our workshop would disagree.  The woman that rear ended him while he was trying to make a left said "He never used a turn signal but his tail light was blinking"!?!?  She was obviously a dumb ass and may have hit him even with stock turn signals but just remember that there are probably lots of other dumbasses just like her on the road who don't understand integrated taillights!  Be safe guys   :thumb:
