That's the 1989 USA type. They will fit all models.
bars are bent but can be replaced with after market bars or I might have a spare set of bars.

Actually its an 1989 top triple with custom bars made by Buddah to fit a 500F tank

The Buddha

Aaaah from the good old days of when the buddha had equipment and time and a place to do stuff ...
The banana bars are needed for 01+, they work on 89-00 too but sorta look a bit goofy like they're bent ...
I got a beautiful set of aluminum bars on my kat FE ... that I am going to have to give up with the change in tank I am thinking of.
Cool.

Just saw you can no longer leave feedback so if anyone is wondering, Pdx Dino Burner is a fantastic buyer and sent payment very quickly. Again thank you for the purchase and goodluck with the bike!

The Buddha

For an 01+ you need to install the bars bent outwards, away from the tank ~5 degrees.
Cool.

One of the Canadian/European types fits OK - though very close.
Suppose the 89's are tight because they are an inch lower at the tank end and would strike the widest part of the tank. You can file the parts where the clips mount to the top plate to give a little more angle if you don't want to bend the bars.

with stock 89 clips and straight woodcraft bars i can still go lock to lock. it will pinch my finger a little on each side, but won't crush it. bar will never hit the tank.
if yer binders ain't squeakin, you ain't tweakin!

I find the same with the one Canadian/European type, too. Can pinch the thumb on the right if a full turn. Then I only do that sometimes backing out of a parking space. I think you only need to bend the bars if you have fat hands, really thick gloves AND like to do full hard turns. Only the 2nd type of Canadian/European ones have a true tank slap issue with the newer tanks.
