I happily noticed that there are actually some US resellers of the R&G slider kits.

Then I noticed, that they sell SEPARATE versions, for faired vs unfaired.
As seen at

Funny thing is, the "naked" version, looks plenty long enough to handle installation in faired version.
Anyone know what the difference is?

I'm tempted to actually buy the "faired" version, even though I'm running half naked at the moment.. in the chance I eventually replace them.  But I'm now reluctant to do so, without knowing more.

Sadly, I had previously emailed them with another question, and they did not respond :( Otherwise I'd just email the manufacturer and ask them.

The engine sticks out more on one side than the other. So on the naked version, the spacers are different length.

The fairing comes out the same distance on both sides and a little further. So the faired version has slightly longer spacers and are the same length.

I know because Suzi has the faired version and Junior the un-faired version.
You could use the faired version on a naked bike, but not the other way around.

PS: Faired includes a guide piece to help you drill the hole in the right place.

What I think you are saying, is that on the "non-faired" version... the support rods would be shorter.. except for the fact that on the engine side, it needs to be longer, to cover the extra "bump" of the engine, so that side is longer.

Thanks a bunch! I guess I'll order the faired set!

(Plus I think it doesnt hurt to have a little extra protection against foot-squishie.
I suffered from major bad foot-squishie on my recent down :(
