I started tweaking on my bike about 3 months ago and kept tweaking until I figured I couldn't tweak no mo. What do think? Don't be afraid to put it all out there. I don't think you can say anything worse than what my motorcycle buddies have already said. :flipoff:........LOL. Honestly tell me what you think good or bad....I think it looks pretty damn cool all hacked up :thumb: Thanks

I like it  :thumb: Just need to cover the wires and other stuff in the rear.
Keep going and it will be awesome bike. Put on bar end mirrors and some nice turn signals.

Edit: You have changed the upper triple clamp from the newer gs right? And how do you painted the engine?

Big Rich

Agreed- if you want to expose the area under the seat, I think it would look better with the wires and such moved. Or make a small fiberglass tail / side panel that runs along the bottom edge of the seat vinyl and meets up with the bottom edge of the tank.

And what's the story with the mirrors? When minimizing everything else, it makes them look HUGE. All said though, I'd throw a leg over it for sure. Good job!

It's opener there in the wide open air...

No you should keep going ... bad enough that you killed one GS'es soul ... dont need to start over ... unless you promise to only do kaw ex500 from now on ... then you should sell and get to that immediately, apparently those dont have a soul.
Cool.

It looks ok. But I wouldn't say you can't do any more. Between cleaning it up, and other mods there's plenty that could be done.

lol.....Sorry Buddha, I know this breaks your GS heart. Think of it as a GS soul that has been reincarnated. ;)

I know, I don't like the mirrors either I want to find some inexpensive but good quality handle bar mirror's. This whole bike was built on a budget. Hell, I picked it up for free. :D

The wire's...I agree with all of you, I just don't know how I could do it on a budget.

I don't want to stop or start over I really just ran out of cheap ideas.

oh yeah the triple tree is stock 96 gs500 powder coated red with after market bars.

So... it looks like it has no rear suspension?

:whisper: It is an illusion.... Kitana shock almost all of the way up. It's on 7 or 8 I think. Yes, I would like it to appear taller, I am 6'0" 210 lbs. Probably have no business being on a GS500 :icon_lol: I feel like a gorilla on a mini bike sometimes.

Looks pretty solid, I'd agree with everyone else about the mirrors and the wiring.  A bit of tidying up and some bar end mirrors and you've got a nice looking bike there.  I'm really digging the black headlight housing.  Paint or powdercoat?

All powder :thumb: except engine, tank, and forks...crappy attempt with high temp. looks worse in person.

deffinitly not a fan of the cafe racer style without the old school duel springs in the rear, it's better then some hacks ive seen though

Ya I would do bar end mirrors, and just put on plastic side and cut them to fit and wrap around the back of the seat. I like the front forks black I'm doing mine all black with only white decals. I have the bar end mirrors they work great.

+1 on keep going!  You already got the message to hide the wires and stuff so no need to repeat that.  Hope you stick with it!

If it were me, id locate the tail light assy to be flush wiht ends of subframe rails. ( cap those off) then rig up  some type of filler panel between the end of the seat, and aforementioned light

I'm with everybody else but one more thing cut the passenger foot pegs and brackets off.  I'm pretty sure at 6'0" 210 and with a chopped seat your probably not gonna have anybody riding shotty anytime soon and it'll give the back end more of that floating look.
