Broke the gold 'coathanger' clip in the headlight.

Hey, changed my headlight bulb, and when I was unscrewing the two screws on either side it gold 'coathanger' (that holds the light in place) broke off and on the ground, when I picked it up there was a piece of it that snapped off - would just using a regular metal coat hanger work or would that mess around with the electric current?

A picture of what you are talking about would be helpful.  I don't have an F model but I'm assuming it uses a standard halogen headlight bulb like a car, someone correct me if I'm wrong. If that is the case, you shouldn't have to unscrew anything to change the bulb.  Typically there is a rubber boot to keep moisture out that can be pulled off after the wire harness connector is removed.  Then there is usually a hinged piece of spring steel holding the bulb in the housing that is manipulated somehow (squeezed, pulled...) out of a locking tab and pivoted out of the way to remove the bulb.  I'm assuming the screw you removed was part of the pivot point.  All of the power passes through the wire harness so you can use whatever works to repair the damage   :thumb:

Didn't think you have to remove screws to change the headlight - just pull back the rubber dust cup, unplug it, remove the spring clip and out it comes.

Whatever holds it in is OK. Look carefully at the bulb - all connections are through the 3 pin connector. The spring clip just holds the bulb in place.

A coat hanger won't work because the OEM part is spring steel.  The easiest option would be to order a new one.

I changed my bulb yesterday too  :D. There is NO need to unscrew the screws. You just push on the wire on the opposite side to the screws to unhook it. That's it.

By the way what halogen did you get? I got Phillips X-Treme. Today when I will be going back home and it will be dark I will se if there is any difference. For $25 there better be some :) haha

If I were you I would buy new spring instead of making this out of regular wire.
