Strange looking plugs and some funky idling

I guess I'll start by saying that the bike has some serious hesitation when it isn't yet warmed up.  I did the plug check where you do runs at certain throttle positions and kill it to see how it is doing through the different stages.  Before I did that I pulled the plugs to get a general sense of how they are doing.

They are NGK Iridiums and I put them in a month or two ago.  As you can see in the pic, the irdium tip and the part it sparks to are rather white, but the rest of it is BLACK.  Click the pictures for a MUCH bigger view.

I'm not really sure what to think about it.  Anybody else see plugs like this?  I'm not an expert or anything.

Another strange thing is that when I'm warming it up, I have to choke it about half way and the rpms go up to about 2500ish.  If I choke it more, it makes the rpms go slower more towards idling.

The bike is all stock when it comes to powertrain.  I checked the valves recently enough.  I sync'd the carbs earlier this season and that is all I can think of that I did that may effect this.

Please let me know if anyone has any ideas.

Rich, but electrodes nice and clean.

If the thing goes down the road ok after it's warmed up, I'd be happy.

google [read spark plugs] i suspect you have a problem with your float level ,or sticking fuel inlet valve ,or choke on for 2 long . spark plug porcelain should be white but not blistered . modern fuel with out lead reads differently to unleaded fuel . try above sites..

Thanks for the input.  I was wondering about the float height.  I did adjust the float height before, but the guide on here that I used didn't have pictures anymore.  The replies said "awesome guide and great pictures", but now the pics are gone.

I tried to make the height to spec but the mating surface for the float bowel is kind of angled.  Where on that surface do I measure to get the proper float height?

iridiums are expensive as hell. Why don't you just stick to standard ones and check them from time to time?
