Will a 95 model gsx600 rim and spring bolt on?

Am looking to put a kat rear on my gs500f 2008 so I can put a 150 tyre on, I have been offered a gsx600 95 model rim and spring I think the spring is right from what I've been able to find out I think anything older than 89 will work but not positive and one tread I found said the 97 + gsx600 rim is right but anything older has the same size rim as my bike can anyone please comfirm this or tell me the right years that will bolt straight on my gs?!!
