$250 shipping?

Gotta be a better way or this parts whore is going to have to pass on it.

(FYI: Did get couple other regulators so OK someone else got yours.)

Do have a lead on a 2004 engine in Seattle for $300, which would be a nice complement to the free 2006 engine. Trey is marking his territory so I have been thinking about replacing the engine in addition to doing the bike build.

it'll sit here then haha unless i use a piggy back on ground hound or something similar- shipping the engine UPS is the easiest for me.

135lb package shipped 2,700 miles = Cash Money. + shipping materials(crate or box) also its not like me tossing a part in a pack and hauling it with me on the moto to work(i use my UPS pickup from work) so all in all 300 shipped for an engine isn't a terrible  :dunno_black: [/mini rant]

i'm not trying to make every coin for the engine i can, but i can't bend over backwards on it

OK. Now I have a weight to work with.
Still looking at the 2004 engine locally as another project part (yes - I'm a parts whore, I know I can change, if I have to, I guess...)

I'll see what a UPS pickup would be since I can (hush!) run that through my business. I really want more than one engine for projects to rip apart and learn on and put back together. I'll keep you updated but if someone wants it, let them have it.

This is what I've learned on the local 20004 motor - so waiting for my fellow West Seattle Club Members to chime in on this one.

Im pretty sure it had 14k on it I bought a "built" motor for the bike soon after we got it, if I remember right it was due for a valve adjust and the girl I bought the bike from said that she was adjusting 1 of the valves more than the others it still was running strong wen pulled we just had to gs'es and I wanted them to perform equally. =) I also hav a nice 05 front wheel I purchased the front wheel from ebay thinking it was a rear wheel took it to the bike shop had a larger than stock rear tire mounted on it then when I got home i realized that it was equipped for a speedometer I realized I have the front wheel instead of the rear wheel OOPS..!
"Front" wheel=$60
Drand new
Rear dunlop D205 140/80-17=$80
Front Sport max qualifier 120/70-17=$80

did i catch a niner in there? hahah not sure where the last half of that post trailed off to, but:

a GS engine weighs ~125lb. to ship UPS ground you have to keep in under 150lbs(or else it has to go UPS freight) that means no crate if shipped UPS ground. then that entails me finding/purchasing a multi walled corrugated cardboard box that can withstand the UPS man dropping, kicking, and cursing a 135lbs package for 2700 miles haha

if you can find a better way to ship, please let me know. i don't mind letting the engine go for dirt cheap, especially if its to another gstwinner.

engine shipped, frame's getting taken away after work, and i will get a couple photos of all the left over parts tonight.

cleaning the last of everything and getting the junk out of here. i'll be bringing home a black/silver 2006 gsF with minor engine work. if i can't get it back in running shape, be on the watch out for another part out thread haha

frame, tank, spare set of headers, and old battery gone!  :woohoo:

found the ad on craigslist, thought it was just going to be a scrap yard. turned out it was some guy that was looking for a project. he wasn't very familiar with the gs. i had to take a few more parts off the frame before i gave it up. so we chatted while i wrenched, went and showed him my 04. he seemed pretty stoked. he was interested in any/all other parts i had..

i just sent him photos and my offer, but wanted to give the twinners one last chance to get anything they need:

-rear mud guard with blinkers
-rear tail light
-exhaust(has some scratches)
-battery trey
-rear sets, all 4 pegs, and brake/shifter levers
-dog bones
-stands(center and kick)
-rear master cylinder and brake arm
-air box
-front and rear axles
-swing arm(complete)
-horn
-crankcase(no crankshaft), side cover, and oil pan
-chain guard
-rear shock(w/knuckle)
-top and lower triples
-brake calipers
-mirrors
-handlebars
-rear grab bar
-grips
-balancer shaft
-clutch
-mounting hardware for 2004+ fairings
-windshield
-box of misc. engine and body hardware

getting lazy, but here's a couple general photos of the lot. i have better shots of all parts, let me know if you want to see something upclose.
